Job description:

Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Meat Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent quality and products and services.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Excellent communication skills

Numerical skill

Customer focused

A passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers

The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment,ability to multi-task under pressure

No previous experience necessary as training will be provided

Main duties:

Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e. Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative

Drive sales through ensuring SOPs and store standards are met on a daily basis

Merchandise and present department to the highest standard

Implement planograms correctly

Control stock rotation so that quality and freshness of goods is of the highest standard

Manage waste and shrink in the department

Ensure continuous improvement in the Meat Department by remaining up to date with new products and initiatives

Enhance product knowledge by gaining information from a range of sources and share ideas, suggestions and builds

Engage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of working

About the locality:

We're looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking individual to join our butcher counter team.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, so we're seeking someone who brings not only enthusiasm and energy, but also great attention to detail and a passion for excellent customer service. You`ll be working directly with customers, so having a warm and approachable personality is essential. We`re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys chatting with people, offering help, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

In addition to customer interaction, the role involves working with knives, handling fresh meat, and preparing cuts to a high standard. While previous experience is helpful, it`s not essential - what matters most is your ability to follow instructions carefully, learn quickly, and work well as part of a team.

For the right person who proves themselves in this role, we`ll be offering the opportunity to begin a formal Butcher Apprenticeship.This is a fantastic chance to develop your skills further and build a rewarding career in the trade.

This is a flexi hour role - candidate must be availble to work at least 18-39 hours and must be availabe for weekdays and weekends
